Message | Full support. We hope that, despite our differences in ideology, the MLP and SRP will be able to pass many more pro-Devolution acts. |
Date | 22:36:00, May 20, 2007 CET | From | Party Royale | To | Debating the The Moderate Libertarian Party/Constitution Party Local Government Freedoms Compromise Act of 2407 |
Message | Too much devolution leads to the supression of minority rights. If the United States federal government had been as toothless as the MLP seems to want to make Aloria, blacks would still not be allowed to vote in the South. Also, a more unitary system of government is necessary to work towards equality within Aloria. Under devolution, the poorer regions would simply get poorer, and the richer regions richer without the federal government's safety net in place. Finally, local politicians are more vulnerable to corruption and to being bribed by special interests due to the much smaller amount of money necessary to win a local election. If this bill is passed, we would essentially be turning over our hard-fought freedoms to local officials eager to sell them off to the highest bidder. Party Royale urges all parties in Aloria to vote No to keep this nation great. |

Message | We agree to a point, however, this bill does devolution to local government on select fairly apolitical issues/concerns only. It puts government in closer contact with the citizenry and unlike the South in before integration, deals not with civil rights which IS in-fact an issue best dealt with at the national level. We are talking economic, health, ecological, etc. issues here. |
