Message | If any Party has objections on this issue, the Liberty Party would be happy to listen to concerns. |

Message | We can agree with the first article. However, article 2 is foolhardy in that it is not a good idea to give deranged people firearms. Article 3, while well-intentioned, goes a bit too far. Do Malivians really need private tanks or hand grenades? |

Message | We do not see a need to change the current laws. Guns are freely available to the law abiding public, those wishing to carry a concealed weapon are permitted to do so. We could be convinced on the final article, however currently there is little need for a heavily armed population. We have frequent and full elections to change government. We have an open society which freely permits travel in and out of our nation, there is no need for the population to mobilize for war. |

Message | The Liberty Party would be willing to eliminate the second article, which is not agreed to by either party, if an agreement would be made on the other two. In response to the concerns on Article 3, most likely not. However, the Liberty Party sees no reason why they should not be allowed to have such weapons. A free society does not make such limitations. Furthermore, allowing our citizens access to military-style weaponry is an excellent check on government power. We are never more than a generation away from despotism, liberty is not passed to our children through birth. We cannot be certain what future leaders may arise and the best way to secure freedom for ourselves and our decendents is to allow for an armed citizenry. In response to the idea that guns are "freely available" - that simply is not true. Firearms are restricted and controlled by current laws. Background checks, licensing, etc are all detriments to freedom. Criminals and the insane can purchase guns illegally, there is no reason to limit the ownership of guns to law-abiding citizens in any way, shape, or form. |

Message | WE must disagree with the Liberty party. Permitting guns to legally enter the hands of the insane and violent is irresponsible. We could support the other two articles if the 2nd is removed. |

Message | That compromise is acceptable for the greater good. We will proceed to a vote now, without the offensive Article 2. |
