Bill: Call for early elections, January 2408

Details

Submitted by[?]: God's and the King's Fighters

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill requests an early election. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline. Elections will be held immediately if the bill passes.

Voting deadline: September 2408

Description[?]:

We, the God's and the King's Fighters, call for early elections as soon as we can reach a consensus. The Sensible Parity prevented peace long enough, therefore we have to get rid of them as major party in our glorious country.

MessageLeader of the Loyal Opposition Ms. Ophelia Westworthy rose to speak to the Parliament:
"By any reasonable measure, this government is a failure. Sensible Parity predicted this. Since 2406, the government proposed 47 bills. 32 of these bills went down in defeat. 14 passed but with Sensible Parity backing. The government only succeeded in passing 1 bill by itself. And now the Prime Minister is asking for early elections so he can govern for a third term. Parliament should know better, the people should know better, and Sensible Parity knows better!"

MessageAnd we will consider if we want to call for a coalition ban if you don't shut up about the Union.

MessageMs Westworthy is saddened to hear this fighting, but she wants the government to know two things: Sensible Parity is loyal to the succession plan, and Sensible Parity thinks the government should move beyond banning parties. Thank you.

You mean there isn't already a ban on our party? This is most surprising. Besides, the CUP is almost universally despised by Hutori's parties, so we're not very offended."

Anyways, we now support early elections. This deadlock must be broken. Hutori needs to vote."

MessageThe CUP mock democracy, and laugh in its face. Banning a political party is just silly.

MessageNot banning a party, banning a COAILITION with a party.

MessageAfter some consideration, and even though our own polls say Sensible Parity is at risk in these elections, I will cast my vote in favor of asking the king to dissolve this government. May the people of Hutori vote wisely and may we have a government that gets things done in the next term.
