Bill: National Mourning

Details

Submitted by[?]: Gerajan Peoples Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: March 2410

Description[?]:

Today is a sad day for Malivia, as His Holiness the Messiah Jermaine Patel has died of cardiac disease. Patel, in addition to his religious duties, also served as the Head of Government for 31 years. We ask all parties to seek a national day of mourning for our late leader. We also ask that each party be helpful in aiding the International Society of Aculaguna Conciousness in finding the next Acula Lama, the reincarnation of Jermaine Patel and Aculaguna Himself.

MessageThe Liberty Party is against this resolution, as it is an unnecessary piece of legislation that serves little purpose. People who wish to mourn will do so without a resolution to that effect and those who do not wish to mourn will not mourn any more just because an act of this legislature has been passed.

MessageWe mourn the loss of Patel, who devoted his life toward the service of others. We may disagree with the ISACON on his status as a messiah, Patel has taught us much. Malivia has lost a noble soul.

@LP: It's just for RP purposes really.

MessageOOC: I understand that. I'm essentially roleplaying my party's response to such a bill being put into the legislature.
