Message | Since we have a surplus, there is no need to cut spending. We are especially concerned with the massive 60% cut to the science and technology budget as well. |
Date | 18:50:02, May 26, 2007 CET | From | Fair Capitalism Party | To | Debating the The 16% Government Spending Reduction Budget Proposal Act of 2410 |
Message | Given that the MLP does not hold the Finance Ministry and will soon not hold any Cabinet position, we would request that he withdraw this bill, as the MLP does not hold the power, within the Constitution, to propose such a bill. |

Message | Do those in the FCP agree with the contents of this bill? Or are you opposing it on the grounds that the MLP were the ones who introduced it? It is a good bill. It fits into line with what you complained about several months ago: budget reduction and surplus return. It will not be withdrawn. |

Message | Well, yes, we are opposing on the grounds of who proposed it as submitting it for voting would be unconstitutional. But we think there need to be tax cuts, not spending cuts. |

Message | Ah, the neo-conservative approach to government finance. In other words, don't tax and still spend. |
Date | 03:52:10, May 27, 2007 CET | From | Industrialist Party of Aloria | To | Debating the The 16% Government Spending Reduction Budget Proposal Act of 2410 |
Message | It's tax less and spend less. Sometimes if you tax less you actually get more money. It has to do with people. They think they won't get anything if taxes are high, so they work less but if they're low they work even more so they get more and we do too. Back to the issue at hand, this is a good bill, it reduces the government's size, which is always good. |

Message | Following further consideration, a spending cut would indeed be in order. |

Random fact: Large scale RP planning (such as wars, regional/continental conflicts, economic collapse, etc.) should be planned (as best as it can be) and should have consent of a majority of players involved. |
Random quote: “The people's war isn't just a war of destruction, it is also a war of construction. We will build new facilities, new hospitals, new farms. We will seek to improve the lives of the people around us. This struggle will be as costly as the struggle against the bourgeois army, and indeed will be even more damaging to the enemy.” - Comrade X, former Hulstrian politician |
