Bill: Renewable Energy Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Party Royale
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: September 2413
Description[?]:
Research into renewable energy is a public good. Local governments will not spend money on this kind of research because their individual returns are minimal, and they can just use the innovations of other cities and states that do put money into it. Since everybody thinks this way, though, very little research ends up getting accomplished and little progress is made. Research and development of renewable energy is the perfect example of a good that should be funded by the national government because it just doesn't make economic sense for local governments to. All of Aloria will reap the benefits, too, in terms of cleaner air and water, a better environenment, and more energy independence. |

Old value:: The decision on renewable energy sources is left up to local governments.

Message | Teaming up with other local governments? Isn't that exactly what a national government is supposed to do, using funding from many local governments to benefit all of Aloria? |
