Current: The death penalty is illegal and is never to be applied.
Proposed: The death penalty is not applied, except for terrorism, treason and crimes against mankind.

Old value:: All adults upon completion of schooling must serve either a term in the military or a lesser paid term of civilian national service, at their option.
Current: There shall be no mandatory military or civilian national service.
Proposed: All adults upon completion of schooling can be required in times of war to serve a term in the military.

| Message | Article 1 doesn't go far enough, but we would still support this bill if it weren't for article 2. What a person receives from society must be balanced by what that person gives back in the form of their duties and responsibilities. Military service is an important duty. Besides, there are many practical benefits to individuals and society from mandatory military service. |
