MessageAbsolutely. Afterall, it is not as if one term constitutes sending them off to die in war. It is one simple term - many people may not even know if they want to be in the army or not because they have never experienced it. And besides, if our nation was suddenly attacked by surprise, do we really want a nation full of virtually useless people, as opposed to an entire nation of people who have at least had some form of training? One term is not much to ask.

MessageWe cannot dictate young people whom upon completion of school to join the army. This will lead to a National depression. What needs to be done here is simple put those serving jail-time on Military training. So this will serve as a rehab and a second chance. Remember our National Anthem, stands for unity!!!

MessageNot really. The people who would do the mandatory military service would only give up a small portion of time, only a couple of months to a year. Would you still be opposed even if the term was defined and short as well as a provision being made for allowing people to join after getting college degrees?

MessageWe absolutely agree with the EAK's proposal to put criminals serving jail-time into army training, but all we are asking for in this bill is a simple one term from each individual - look at it as a fantastic life experience, if nothing else.

MessageHow long is a term?

MessageI imagine it wouldn't be too long. No more than a year is likely. Since no one has raised that issue, it's never been addressed. Everyone has pretty much either accepted the proposal with an implied idea that their idea for the length of the term would be used, or they condemned this proposal unconditionally.
