Message | So more governmental control then? Weren't we working to get away from things like this? |

Message | Is smoking next? Personal choice can be such a bother sometimes. We should also take away fast food, dairy products, and music television because overuse of all these things can kill (cheese kills, people). This is sarcasm. I devolved into sarcasm because this is so ridiculous. Is recreational drug use legal in any of the 5 Kingdoms? I don't know either because the stats aren't on there but I'm going to go out on a limb here and say "no." And even if they are, who are we to tell these people what's right for them to do in their Kingdom? If one region wants to legalize something and tax it, so be it. Its thier region. If they do that and it turns out to be a huge mistake and they can't get it under control, well that's what national government is for, to clean up and provide. Why grow the national government when the directly elected local government has a clearer view of what the people want? We have our polls but this is clearly a job for local government to decide what they need. |

Message | URP believes that one drug policy is necessary since the borders between kingdoms is open. If Kregon approved LSD for example, it would be incredibly difficult for Andalay to keep it out. |

Message | This brings up a valid point. The LDP would have preferred that this proposal stay in debate a bit longer in order to fully explore the issue. |

Message | True on both counts, LDP. It is a valid point and debate was far too short. Open borders or not, I reiterate: where do we draw the line? If one Kingdom legalizes something and it spreads into another, the second kingdom already has Drug Police to handle it and if that problem grows beyond their control, it will be refered to parliament in order to stop it. This bill strikes me as a way to mess in local affairs for no reason or am i missing something? I think we should leave well enough alone. |

Message | and how will parliamentcontrol a drug situatiuon that is out of hand? as I see it, we can adopt a single national policy or wall off eack kingdom. |

Message | I could not keep the debate up longer because the bill was being unfairly assaulted by FL who uses the most absurd comparisons to devalue the merits of my proposals. |

Message | The LDP fails to see why that fact forced a vote on the issue. |
Date | 21:51:05, June 08, 2007 CET | From | Radical Nationalist Party | To | Debating the Narcotics Act |
Message | NP believe this should be left for local governments to decide, however NP local government's would be enclined to ban the use. |

Message | We support this legislation - illicit narcotics are the bane of our society. They create an unsafe environment for our nation's children, exposing them to the threat of life-changing addiction when they do not yet have the maturity or knowledge to make the correct moral decision. They corrupt the image and reputation of neighbourhoods. They also corrupt users to the point in which they commit robbery, property theft, and other such criminal acts in order to fund their habit illegally, and many users who grow addicted to their substance lose their motivation or ability to work or acheive their goals. This not only fosters poor societal values, it also depreciates the productivity of certain businesses in which drug-addicted individuals are employed. These narcotics also effect the death toll dramatically. We believe fervently in the banning of all illicit narcotics, and would perhaps go further in suggesting that more severe sentances be given to any individual found in posession of these illegal substances, regardless of whether they are selling it or carrying it for personal use. It is time to rid our society of this plague. |
