Message | URP also supports local control of libraries and museums. I think it's important to note that local museums and libraries will continue to exist alongside a national system. A national system will also enhance these local services. For example a national library system would be able to loan books to local libraries and a national museum system might not only be able to provide better care and centralization of Lodamun's artistic treasures, but could loan exhibits to local museums which would allow art to travel across all of Lodamun rather than stay in one place. True, local museums and libraries could agree to these policies under the current framework, but adding a national library and museum system would facilitate this. URP will always advocate more art, science, education, and historic protection even if it means slightly more government. |

Message | Too much excessive spending. We can almost see the taxes pouring in. Why not leave libraries and museums to the private sector? |

Message | Private industry cannot support, nor can it expand our national heritage. If the national government does not do it, then who will? Our society must support its' history, as well as promote it and teach it to our people in order to gain respect internationally, as well as building a national sense of identity and purpose. I want to walk into a museum in our beautiful capitol city that is filled to the brim with historical artifacts from our great tradition. I want to see monuments and places of memorium established as a manner of pride as well as solemn, sad remembrance. Those who have gone before us deserve that much. Finally, our education system desperately needs the resources that a publicly funded library system can provide with access to not only the texts of our great Kingdom, but that of all Terra. Please vote in favor of this act as a matter of pride. |

Message | I wonder if the Unified Lodamese are confused. This proposal has nothing to do with private industry supporting our museums and libraries. This is a proposal is choosing between local government and national government control of our museums and libraries. |
Date | 08:41:29, June 16, 2007 CET | From | The Unified Lodamun Party | To | Debating the Lodamese Cultural Enhancement Act |
Message | Local government do not have the resources to create adequate librairies museums, and landmarks and therefore would have to rely on local, private, businesses to build and maintane our national pride. They simply cannot do this and be fiscally responsible to their constituents. |
Date | 21:00:41, June 16, 2007 CET | From | New Democratic Party | To | Debating the Lodamese Cultural Enhancement Act |
Message | Since local and private monuments/libraries/museums can "exist alongside a national system," we can support this bill. |
