Message | Absolutely not - prostitution is immoral, and completely corrupts the true concept of sexual relations. Intercourse is not just some meaningless, trivial hobby - it's a sacred physical engagement between a married man and woman who share mutual love and affection. Allowing prostitution will irreperably damage and corrupt the sanctity of sexual intercourse, lowering it to some cheap thrill that demented perverts can pay third-rate, disgusting tarts for. Sexual intercourse is not something you can pay for, and is not something that should be engaged in by individuals who care little to nothing about each other, let alone two complete and utter strangers. Allowing prostitution also creates an abhorrent and unsafe environment for our children to grow up in, and may perhaps lead them to believe that sex is just another meaningless hobby or sport, to do for cheap thrills. Even allowing local government's the right to decide whether or not prostitution should be legal is absolutely appalling. It should be completely and absolutely illegal, nation-wide, and offenders should be punished to the full extent of the law. We will not accept the indecent corruption and unravelling of our society's moral fabric. We must ask the electorate - is nothing sacred? |

Message | URP believes this decision is best left to the kingdoms. If Golavia wants to legalize prostitution, I say we let it. Unlike drugs which can easily flow from one kingdom into another, Prostitutes can only sell their wares in localities which approve of the activity. Furthermore these activities are likely to remain confined since individual hookers would be unlikely to travel into zones where the activity was illegal when they could easily practice this activity in some areas legally. This bill lets local governments decide their own prostitution policy. |

Message | While we can understand and generally agree with what the Nationalists, ULP and LLC are saying, we feel that we could support this proposal simply because we don't feel it will change very much. We are of the opinion that local governments should have the power to make most decisions, and we can't believe many of them would make decisions that are radically different than the current law. If they choose to legalize prostitution, so be it. Our job is to lead and protect, not necessarily enforce a certain morality. Besides, it’s not as if local governments are made up of worthless know-nothings. In our opinion, they can handle this. |

Message | OOC: Well...the name might have softened me up a little. I had trouble differentiating between what my party would vote for and just voting in favor of a "whores bill" for the heck of it. I think I did right by my party, but man...that was a serious internal battle. |

Message | It makes sense to leave it up to the provinces to decide since opinions on the issue may vary in different areas of Lodamun. |
