MessageI have nothing wrong with smoking, I myself smoke cigars periodically. However, the people have spoken, and they are upset about the increase in lung cancer patients entering our hospitals. Keeping smoking in places where people can choose to be in its' pressence or not, will help alleiviate that problem. Also, I've spoken with many owners of establishmetns that serve alchahol, and they would prefer to continue having legalised smoking because many drinkers also smoke, and few drinkers would have a problem being in the pressence of a smoke filled environment. Finally, if the owner of a bar desires to make his business a non-smoking facility, he is more than welcome to do so.

Unified Lodamun's serve the people, and this is what the people want. They absolutley do not want strong armed tactics by two of its' major parties thwarting their own desires. The elections will show you the err of your ways.

Messagethere's no consistency in that argument. If smoking is bad it's equally bad everywhere. If bars should be able to allow smoking because alot of people want to smoke there, why shouldn't a doughnut shop allow smoking if most of their customers want to smoke?

MessageIf you can get all the poeple who go into doughnut shops to vote on whether they want to breath in 2nd hand smoke, and I get all the people in bars to vote on the same thing, what do you suppose the outcome of such an vote be? And be honest, not political.

MessageAs always, the LDP supports the strong position of local governments. We feel that this keeps us from voting for this bill.

MessageWow, you are all completely unified in your desire to breath in second hand smoke. That is interesting. I found a way to unify our country, just as I planned all along.

MessageIts not inconsistent in any way. I'm for what the people want. Besides this bill would have failed miserably if we had attempted to ban smoking altogether just as much as it did in taking a partial step in that direction.
