Bill: Child Labour

Details

Submitted by[?]: HaLeumit Tikvah

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: September 2416

Description[?]:

Child Labour is a reality in our nation, but burying our heads in the sand and outlawing it will not stop it happening, and only forces it underground where employers are able to make children work in even worse conditions. If we legalise it, and impose strict regulations to ensure child safety, we can reduce the danger child labour puts them in.

MessageProbably it should, but we live in a poor society, and the reality is some children will be forced into work, and the government cannot completely stop it. But by legalising jobs where children are not put in dangerous or strenuous work, we can reduce the number working in dangerous industries, as well as ensuring they are given a fair wage.

MessageI agree. Plenty of teenagers work illegally, and are abused in that manner.
