| The new budget rules some problems decried by the opposition. First, we increased the funding of Social and Health Services by 15 billion Dolgars, in order to provide Dorvik with one of the best healthcare services on Terra. Secondly, we increased the environment and tourism funding by one billion Dolgars to help enterprises be more environment-friendly and to promote the Dorvish nation all around Terra, trying to make it into one of the best places to visit. Thirdly, we increased Trade and Industry funds by a billion Dolgars as well, so that both workers unions and industries are growing better. Plus, it will permit the Government of Dorvik to give more incensitives to create more Democratic Working Councils, which seems to be appreciated by the dorvish workers. Finally, we thought about that: Dorvik is not at war, so unnecessary funds are currently wasted on the army. We, thus, decided to cut some funds on the army, but not enough to prevent it from working efficiently at defending our great nations from invaders. So a cut by 5 billion Dolgars, while it might be harsh on the higher officers as they won't be able to eat their daily caviar, will not affect the efficiency of the Dorvish Army. | Message | We support this budget proposal as it answers to our concerns about health & social services even though we think that 10 billion Dolgars would have been more than adequate due to strong presence of the private health care. More funds for environment & developing tourism and Ministry of Trade & Industry is also appropiate. OOC: Actually you should have increased the funding for Ministry of Finance as it handles employment issues such as DWC's (Ministry of Labour). I take it that 5 billion dolgar funding cut from the military came across the board from decreasing new weapon investments, wages & benefits of senior officers and cutting down civil sector bureaucracy in the military, not to mention cutting down WMD capacity as it's likely they will be banned & scrapped as WMD policy bill is going to pass. |
