Message | We could support this, but would rather see subsidies used to encourage farmers to use traditional organic methods that (I) preserve the Luthori rural environment and (II) equalise the prices of organic foods withchemical ridden pseudo-foods, giving housewives and mothers the genuine option to choose healthy foods that don't cost the earth, without having to pay more. |

Message | Well, the proposal that did what you suggested failed to pass. So, if this option is what you consider your second best one, you better support it. |

Date | 04:55:00, June 25, 2007 CET | From | Secular Party | To | Debating the Strong Agricultural Economy Act |
Message | Subsidizing economic activities that create products is often inefficient. Subsidizing agricultural activities will simply lead to more farmers, and those farmers will flood the market with their products, producing a surplus that will lower wages to their lower level. Meanwhile, the extra people that became farmers are no longer doing other work, and the costs of items and services that they would have otherwise done is increased. |
