Bill: Military Reform Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Christian Royalist Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: November 2420
Description[?]:
I disagreed with the last bill and I believe the people of this nation will agree with me. That and I don't think everyone voted on that last one. In any case, Don't Ask Don't Tell creates secrecy and suspicion of other people within the units. |
Proposals
Article 1

Old value:: Open homosexuality is not tolerated in the military. The military has a "don't ask, don't tell" policy.

Message | We are not sure. It could be a huge waste of money, and effort, trying to root out homosexuals in our Armed Forces. How are we to do this? Check lockers to ensure that all men have pictures of naked ladies? Do we even allow pictures of naked ladies? I suggest this is a little impractical. If we're to encourage our soldiers, seamen and pilots to spy on each other in order to root out homosexuals it is going to be incredibly damaging to morale, and create just the atmosphere of secrecy and suspicion this bill seeks to avoid. |

Message | So, you wish to waste money and resources rooting out people who are risking their lives for their fellow Luthorians and who have never committed a crime? |

Message | This legislation is unnecessary and will only cause harm. Belinda Braithwaite (Leader of the LCWA) |
Date | 00:39:11, June 28, 2007 CET | From | Teleurstelling Party | To | Debating the Military Reform Act |
Message | It was only last year the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy was established. We believe that regardless of the perverted nature of an individual if they are willing to lay down their life for the nation, then all it. Award them, applaud them, do not seek to root them out. |
