Bill: Budget Cut
Details
Submitted by[?]: HaLeumit Tikvah
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This bill proposes to change the allocation of funds in the budget. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline.
Voting deadline: August 2421
Description[?]:
With the passing of the Welfare Reform act, a large part of social services is now redundant, so we can afford to cut its budget. With the passing of the Ecology Reform act, the national governement has little to do except register and regulate trade in some animals, so the enviroment and tourism departments budget can be cut. With the passing of the Economic Reform act the national government ha nothing to do except set and review regulation for child labour, the trade and industry department hardly needs to exist. And since the department of food and agriculture no longer needs to worry about fishing quotas, and has had a number of other jobs taken off it over the last 20 years, its budget can be cut also. |

Message | We will never agree to such a budget cut, remember CLP your not a dictator anymore. |

Message | Anymore? we were never a dictator in the first place, nor have we ever had an absolute majority. We arent asking you to agree to budget cuts really, we're asking you to accept that the number of jobs the government has has already been decreased, and the current level of spending is only waste. |

Message | I agree with everything except the Environment and Tourism cuts. Increasing tourism and promoting our nation is still an important part of our government's plans. |

Message | Well look at it this way- we are only cutting from the areas outlined in the Ecology Reforms act, which only cuts from the enviroment section of the Department of Enviroment and Torurism. In essence the budget for promoting tourism will remain the same. |
