Bill: Public Transport Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Luthori Christian Women's Association

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: August 2421

Description[?]:

Public transport should be subsidised in order to curb congestion on the roads and reduce fuel emissions from cars. Cheaper public transport will also provide more economic and social opportunities to people on low incomes, a group which naturally includes many women, pensioners and disabled people.

MessageMr Speaker,

Public transport? /Public transport/? We should like to remind the Rt. Hon. leader of the Luthori Christian Women's Association that the government is not here to pander to pedestrians or paupers.

Mr. Speaker,

We support this concept in that while the general expense would seem to be adding expense reduce strss on the infrastructure. This is a long term gain.

I yield the floor.

MessageMr speaker,

We are not prepared to take the hard earned cash of people who may not use "public transport" for very practicale reasons (after all, it does not take you from your door to where you are going as quickly, conveniently or cheaply as a driver or motorcade) and use it as such.

I yield the floor.
