We believe after these people have been a drain on the nation through all the money spent on arresting them and putting them in prison this will allow the nation to improve itself for free. MessageAble-bodied prisoners are already forced to work. Is there some way we could legislate that minimum-security prisoners do some of the jobs you've mentioned outside of the prisons?

We acknowledge that it may be semantics that puts us off from this bill, but the NDP finds the word "slavery" extremely unsettling. We'd hate to see people imprisoned simply to gain a workforce, eliminating jobs from Lodamun citizens.

We are still disappointed that the global emancipation treaty didn't pass and plan to return the bill to the floor. We will not support this legislation.

MessageThe current law on works for "prisoners", we feel that this bill will entitle us to start a sort of community service. This could also work to keep prisoner numbers down so the prisons are kept for the serious criminals.

Random fact: When you join the game, you will find yourself with only zero seats. That's because your party's representatives haven't been elected yet. You need to establish your party's position on issues by proposing several bills that your party wants passed and sending them to vote. This raises your visibility and if you do it enough, you will win seats at the next election.
