Bill: Medical Malpractice Act
Details

Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: February 2093
Description[?]:
Doctors need to be held more accountable under the law. At present, they can only be sued for mistakes that result in death. Far too many victims of medical incompetence have missed out on justice, and far too many doctors are being negligient. This Act will shake the situation up for the better. |

Message | We must vote against this, as we have no idea when this will end. Someones throat cancer operation left them with a croaky voice, could they sue? Or if someone who has been told that amputation is the only option left suddenly sues because he has one leg less? Doctors should be allowed to do their duties without the constant fear of lawsuits. We do not want to become a nation where people will sue because they feel a bit down despite the anti-depressants, or whatever other cocked-up excuses people can make up to sue someone. Lawsuits are only necessary when death occurs, then the doctors should be held to account. |
