MessageThe SLP feels that forbidding a person (male or female) from demanding payment for sexual gratification is essentially outlawing a profession and banning a service. In our view, professions should not be banned unless there is an overwhelmingly convincing argument for doing so.

MessageThe Social Democratic Party believes there is an overwhelmingly convincing argument for outlawing prostitution and that is that the vast majority of women who are prostitutes are economically and socially very disadvantaged and are effectively forced into prostitution out of economic necessity rather than choice.
