MessageAbsolutely opposed. You fear me personally for the job of Defense Minister, and so you nominate someone completely incapable from the Independent Party. Due to the FIP's lack of respect, the CPS will not support any government coalition which does not give the CPS it's due seats, INCLUDING the office of Defense Minister.

Defense Minister Julia Taylor, Inner-Party Leader

MessageMy party is completely capable since it has history in over three different countries and has risen to levels of power in various situations, that including the cabinet. The defence minister doesn't do much, and i would like to question what you have done to help our defence.

Message*Outraged, FIP Senators stand up furiously shouting and yelling in protest of current Defense Minister Julia Taylor's statement about the proposed cabinet, which the Defense Minister claims to be incapable. All nineteen FIP Senators stand to make speeches in order of seniority. Each speech was short and straight to the point.*

"If Defense Minister Taylor is seemingly "capable" and other parties are not of the Defense division, let me ask this: what has Minister Taylor done to benefit our defense that she herself has done directly?"

- FIP Senator Vedrin Levish

"The incumbent Defense Minister has doomed herself with anti-FIP politics. The cabinet is no place for feuds and Supreme President Dennis Kucik has made a wise decision to keep any Minister out of the cabinet that would seek to cause trouble in his term. Mr. Kucik was not elected to fight foes, but to work progressively with people he can trust and that the nation can trust and parties that he feels can responsibley chair an important national division."

- FIP First Ranking Senator Peter Quincy

"I must say that Minister Taylor does not represent her party well. Not only has she distanced herself from unity and togetherness, but she has worked to make Solentian politics a very malicious thing. This attack upon a cabinet of such unity is not regarded by many very highly."

- FIP Senator Hugh Bure

"How has the Federal Independent Party disrespected the Conservative Party? Supreme President Kucik gave the CPS four seats! He did the right thing by giving it another seat instead of the Defense portfolio seeing as how the CPS has demonstrated that its politicians for the seat in particular cannot work well with other Ministers."

- FIP Senate Secretary Cercin Verda

"Has the CPS gone mad? It is still widely involved in the cabinet, it has merely been given a seat that Mr. Kucik obviously feels it will work better in than its former incumbent position of Defense. The CPS should learn to pick its representatives better and perhaps have a recall election for it's party leadership..."

- FIP Majority Whip George Gereg

"I doubt any FIP politician or any other party politician fears you Miss Taylor. Quite frankly, I think everyone hates you. However, Supreme President Dennis Kucik is too politically correct to actually take action against your crimes against progressive unity in the Senate. President Kucik has kept a party in the cabinet that has come out publically saying it won't work with FIP and that its new leaders are anti-FIP. It makes me rather unhappy to see this from the CPS' new leadership and I can't say it's impressing me or any other Senator."

- FIP Senator Andrew Warner

Message"The calls as to my inadequacy as Defense Minister for Solentia are unfounded and poorly researched. During my tenure in this position, I have worked toward the defense and safety of the nation. I negotiated specifically with the FIP on the Positive Military Improvement Act in August 2420 in order to ensure the MAD capabilities of Solentia, and I might add that my voice convinced the CPS to support the bill, Senators from the FIP. Do not suggest that I have done nothing for Solentia's safety."

"I have no reservations as to Supreme President Kucik's granting my party these seats on the cabinet. A noble gesture of peace, ostensibly, but in truth you would seek to eliminate our party from power in the Solentian government. The third largest political party in Solentia will not be kept silent because of political disputes between faction leaders, and so instead of forcing your parties to accept my voice, however outspoken it may be, the CPS will merely sit by as the injustice of the 3rd largest party being held out of the government occurs. I have no further need for debate, propose your REAL government and get on with life, but know that I will remember your disrespect in the future."

MessageSomewhere in Solentia a television flickers on.

Finn Jacobs firm, yet weathered countenance peers from behind a SSDP-logod podium, which is littered with the requisite microphones from the various news factions in Solentia. Finn appears in his early 60's, a pale, serious face is complemented by fading reddish hair, cut in a very neat, short hairstyle, befitting a man of his eartnestness. The throng of reporters instictively quiet their chatter to a hum as Finn gestures to speak.

"Let me be the first to congratulate the capable rookie Senators from the SSDP, and the sweeping gains made by the Party in Solentia's last election. It is truly a great day in Solentia's past, and will mark the ascension of a reasonable and responsible voice in the Government, who will forever hold needs of Solentia, and its citizens paramount to all else... We will not pass legislation concerned with issues that other sovereign nations of Terra have deemed to be entirely domestic. This is legislative excess... and it is paid for by taxpayers and thus should not be rightly tolerated!"

Finn pauses a mount to catch to completely catch his breath. He is an effective orator and seems to have the press satisfied to this point.

"Furthermore, in regards to the recently proposed Cabinet by the Federal Independent Party, the SSDP cannot help but wonder how a Party which has, in the past has effectively filled positions in FIP-headed Cabinents. The Party would suggest that if this is not some sort of political move now that the Party has gained some legislative 'ability' in the recent elections, that the FIP offers the Party an explanation as to why it has been excluded from further co-operation. The recent inactivity of the party in voting on legislaiton, was a symbolic and unannounced gesture in response to the SSDP's frustration with its presence in the Senate."

"Soon the Party will introduce some of its new Senators to the voting public, who have spoken up and acknowledged that the Party has the good of the whole Solentian society in mind when it acts in the Senate. No questions tonight..." Faintly audible objections are heard, and low grumble momentarily settles upon the room. "Thank you. Good evening."

The Party Chairman turns briskly as the groans and complaints become slightly more audible, but never disrespectful. For a party that has only recently emerged into Solentian politics, there would seem to be much more to be addressed. To this Finn had promised, and he'd always had a rap as an honest politician.

We now return to our regularly scheduled progam.

Message((In regards to the Senate walk-out, I had not looked at what my seat share was when I had abstained. That was just a rushed explanation for my OOC being out-of-town, you can just disregard, or consider it as such, or whatever... My fault.))
