Bill: Encourage Employment !
Details
Submitted by[?]: Mouvement des Conservateurs
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: March 2427
Description[?]:
We want to make sure there are no NO 'profiteurs' in the social security system - an unemployed adult shall receive a minimum income, but it is NOT to exceed a period of 10 MONTHS AFTER reaching the age of 16 (adult) or becoming unemployed - after the waiting period of 3 MONTHS (called the waiting gap) - that makes it 13 MONTHS for an unemployed worker who has already been active on the labour market, with 3 months unpayed. It is important that unemployed citizens are activated ASAP - by this, we want to encourage them. |
Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change Guarantee of minimum income.
Old value:: All adults not supported by another person shall be guaranteed a reasonable, though not high, standard of living by the government.
Current: All adults not supported by another person shall be guaranteed a reasonable, though not high, standard of living by the government.
Proposed: All adults not supported by another person shall be guaranteed a very basic subsistence income by the government. However, the provision of this is not to exceed a certian period of time.

Message | "This does not encourage - it forces. EASL has spent years fighting against the use of indirect force in economics, and can see nothing here but a cleverly concealed attempt to commit such a crime. The current standards are enough to ensure that better rewards come with real employment, but that all are ensured the freedom to pursue what life calls them to do without market compulsion. EASL seeks a true meritocracy, one without a vicious 'second' face that makes life unbearable for those who do not seek employment according to the values of the majority." -Adrien Durand MNA, Provincial-West, Morbanack EASL Assembly Leader |

Message | Support, the government shouldn't be handing out money like its candy, this way the person knows that the income from the government is temporary and that the adult should do his best to get a job and a income on his own. |

Message | OOC: this bill proves again that our nation has a lack of socialist parties - this will keep the EASL large in elections, good news for thinkleft ;) |
