Message"Terrible. Rildanor must have somewhere to turn for quality news! Privatizing all media and undermining the cooperatives will jeopardize quality journalism and give the Parti d'Aristocratie's largest supporters, the aristocrats, a degree of control over our national media that is entirely unprecedented. Non, non, absolument pas!"

Message"We oppose. We have opposed EASLs extreme proposals for complete nationalization of the media, and we will oppose this extreme proposal for complete privatization. Eliminating all cooperatives endangers quality, untethered journalism and leaves us open to the threat of monopoly. The people of Rildanor deserve an impartial news source! This proposal would put all media at the mercy of advertisers and corporate interests, and put freedom of information in our informed society at risk. The standing law allows for-profit media without the possibility of monetary interest covering the eyes and ears of the nation, and I urge a vote to keep it that way."

Message"We already have competition with the present laws, and we would have competition under EASL's media reforms (although, admittedly, competition of a different kind). The comments of the Parti d'Aristocratie are certainly ill-informed.

I'd remind my ally and partner M. Aiton that EASL has never endorsed the nationalization of the media. EASL believes national control over the media to be as bad as commercial control. EASL will oppose both mistakes equally. EASL endorses, instead, devolved control to independent cooperatives, with subsidies to ensure their continued sustainablity."

Random fact: Players who consent to a particular role-play by acknowledging it in their own role-play cannot then disown it or withdraw their consent from it. For example, if player A role-plays the assassination of player B's character, and player B then acknowledges the assassination in a news post, but then backtracks and insists the assassination did not happen, then he will be required under the rules to accept the validity of the assassination role-play.
