Bill: Pharmaceutical Distribution Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: One Nation Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: March 2430
Description[?]:
The current policy of Government providing free Pharmaceuticals to all Alorians is costing taxpayers. While individuals on high incomes can afford to pay for medicines those on low incomes cannot. One Nation recognises the need of Taxpayer dollars to be spent wisely and conservatively on providing adequate care for those who otherwise cannot provide for themselves. Therefore One Nation proposes that medicines are to be provided by the Government only for those on low incomes. One Nation is willing to negotiate alternative solutions to the problem - however the current policy as it stands is not viable. One Nation is prepared to work with all parties to negotiate an alternative. |

Article 1

Message | So this will cut drug benefits for all to just those with low incomes when gov't. clearly can negotiate cheaper drug prices? This is unnecessary legislation. |

Message | This will make it where people who can afford drugs pay for them themselves. It is very good legislation. |

Message | One Nation is a firm believer that those who can afford these services should not burden the taxpayer. The idea of welfare is to support those who are less fortunate in aim of boosting their lifestyles - the idea is once they have reached their potential they are then able to sustain employment and live succesful lives. However One Nation does have the view that those who abuse the system should be accountable for their actions. I would like further debate on this issue as the MLP is not happy with One Nations proposal - I would also like to hear from other parties if possible. Thank you. |

Random fact: Voters have an extra appreciation for bills that actually get passed, so if you want to maximally take profit from your votes, make sure you compromise with others. |
