Proposed: The state owns national defence industries but these exist alongside privately owned defence industries.

Old value:: All adults upon completion of schooling can be required in times of war to serve a term in the military.
Current: All adults upon completion of schooling must serve a term of civilian national service.
Proposed: There shall be no mandatory military or civilian national service.

Message | Still don't understand the reasoning behind the first proposal. I see the benefits of the status quo (better security, results driven by fear, insurance against intentional design flaws), I see the benefits of full privatisation (I believe the former outweighs the latter) but I don't see why we would run the two in tandem. |
