Details
Submitted by[?]: Democratic Rationalists (PrCoa)
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: April 2431
Description[?]:
Priestly vestments during the performance of official duties? That creates the impression that the Alorian government has endorsed the wearer's religion. The practice should be stopped. Therefore, we propose that public officials be banned from wearing religious clothing during the performance of their official duties. It's good for all religion. It's good for religious freedom. |

Old value:: There are no laws regulating the wearing of religious clothing and the wearing of religious symbols.
Current: There are no laws regulating the wearing of religious clothing and the wearing of religious symbols.

Message | One Nation questions how it can be good for freedom? I have a necklace with the cross and Jesus on it - does this mean under this proposal I would have to take it off? One Nation prides itself in being politically incorrect therefore this legislation deserves nothing more than a wheelie bin. |

Message | How is this freedom? This is blatantly infringing on the rights of people because they have a certain job. This directly affects the CP because many of our office holders are religious and wear religious clothing. None of our office holders let their religion affect how they perform their duties and how they vote. All of the members of the CP who are openly religious hold the notion that it is best to set an example and not force morality, religion, etc. You are going about this in an authoritarian manner. Why not let people be free? |

Message | It increases the freedom of Alorians by ensuring that when their public officials perform their public duties, they at least are symbolically performing them in a non-sectarian manner. |
