Message | To prevent outrageous settlements disrupting the public medical system , only reasonable damages should be awarded. |

Message | We completely support. Perhaps some elaboration on where the limit is set would be useful, however. |

Message | The problem with a cap is that it assumes things can only get so bad. Can we put a value on losing a limb due to medical incompetance? Or the life of a child? If a doctor comes to work drunk, and in doing so ends someone's life, exactly how much is that worth? We would only agree to caps if they were set sufficiently high as to allow for the representation of the most heinous medical mistakes possble. |

Message | I agree caps should be set sufficiently high. An idea would be to Take the (Average surplus medical budget)/(average ammount of malpractice lawsuits per year)+(standard deviation)=(cap) , this ammount would most likely be larger than any lawsuit would award and prevent disruption of medical services to the public. |

Message | Surely the judiciary can be trusted to decide what constitutes reasonable damages. We see no need to impose a cap. |

Message | Until there is a solid policy regarding caps, not a vague equation, we cannot support this. |
