| Message | I am adamantly opposed to this legislation because it HURTS disadvantaged groups more than it helps them. I am a member of a "disadvantaged group," btw (i.e. Black). However, although Particracy doesn't allow members to create their OWN unique proposals that can be recorded, I would love to have the opportunity to negotiate a compromise on the issue of "Affirmative Action" between us personally. (1) For example, instead of the government engaging in so-called "positive discrimination" that only angers and antagonizes racist whites, how about we amend the Federal Human [read "civil"] Rights Act so that businesses that engage in simple racial discrimination--in addition to civil penalties--get PROSECUTED and jailed for a mininium of 10 years hard labor to DETER racism, not simply "remedy" it. (2) We propose "legislation" that says if high school students graduate in the Top 30% of their class, they are automatically GUARANTEED a slot in the State university system. What do you think? |
