Message | If a media outlet, or a private individual for that matter, chooses to publish a proven falsehood, it is the responsibility of any interested fellow citizen, and not the government, to correct it; if in fact the assertions of the former are false, a simple application of empirical reason on the part of the latter will be enough to ensure that the truth becomes known. Media regulation does not defend the truth, rather it gives the government the power to decide what counts as truth. |
