MessageBut then surely this is the best system, where parents can buy their children tobacco and alcohol if they think they should be able to have it, rather than your proposal which would see children buying it and not telling their parents.

MessageWe trust parents to supervise their childeren. We want a parent to be allowed to say to a 15 year old: Sure you can have alcohol if you think you must, but I will not buy it for you. If they don't want their childeren to have alcohol it is up to them to prevent them from using it.

MessageWe support the Union's basic goal here, but we question what the children will do when they are away from their parents. Just becasue mom and dad say no to booze isnt going to stop them from buying it

Random fact: Any RP law granting extraordinary "emergency powers" or dictator-like powers to a government must be passed by at least a 2/3rds majority, but (like all RP laws) may always be overturned by a simple majority vote of the legislature.
