Bill: Fair Tax Burden Bill
Details
Submitted by[?]: Democratic Rationalists (PrCoa)
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: March 2436
Description[?]:
Taxes on corporate profits are de facto taxes on consumers. Corporations never pay taxes: they just pass the cost of taxes on by building taxes into the prices of their products. The result is that taxes on corporate profits become an "invisible" tax that consumers pay, without realizing they're paying it. This bill would abolish the tax on corporate profits altogether. Revenues lost can be replaced through other means, such as an increase in the tax on luxuries, or in the income tax. Those taxes, at least, are above board, and everyone who pays them knows they're paying them. |

Message | We like it! Of course, a incremental reduction to zero percent might have been a bit better, but this is alright. |
