Message | I believe that children should be vaccinated, however this bill seems a tad too harsh. Namely, what particular vaccines would it include - only seriously infectious? If we were living in the age of small pox, I'd agree with the need for that vaccine; but should we mandate chicken pox vaccines? There has been some contention that vaccines cause physical or mental problems, but under this proposal concerned parents could not opt out for ideological reasons. In the case of chicken pox, the condition is mild. Why mandate vaccination? This bill like many of ULP's recent bills required debate as they are new. |

Message | Ah, the URP wants debate. How ironic as he dosn't accept debate for the vast majority of his own legislation. |

Message | Where has ULP been for the past decade or more? These are tired arguments. The ULP would have to go far into the history books to find a bill put forward without debate. (except issues already long debated under other bills) |

Message | Seeing as sick children do nothing except pose a risk to other children, it would indeed be best to have vaccinations be mandatory. The NCL agrees with the URP on the point of specifications being necessary. |
