| The citizens of our great nation belong to us. They are born in our hospitals, grow up under our tutelage, work in the industries that we provide for them, and eventually die in service to us. These people owe us everything. And, yet, when a citizen has shown himself to be malfunctioning to such a degree that he is a threat to the machine, and to society in general, we are to hold his life sacred? No life is sacred. People exist to serve us. Thusly, if a citizen is guilty, beyond the shadow of a doubt, of a capital crime such as murder of the most heinous degree, we should put that citizen to death. One, it guarantees that he will not harm anyone else. Two, it sends a clear message to the general populace. And, three, it removes his malfunctioning from the machine, thus improving our efficiency. |
