Bill: Youth Guidance Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: National Moral Front
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: April 2438
Description[?]:
With regards to the youth of this nation, we feel that their ethical fibre is threatened by the modern age. Therefore, we see fit to introduce this proposal, for the maintainance of our great nation into the future. Article 1: We feel that, in modern times, it is necessarry to introduce more spirituality into our schools. As a progressive nation, we do not seek to elevate one religion above any other; merely to mandate a time for prayer to any god, or quiet reflection. These sessions would be led by an adult of good moral standing, to provide example for the youth. Article 2: Youth, when occupying the streets late at night, are invariably involved in at the very least unhealthy, if not outright illegal, activities. Activities such as drug and alcohol abuse, vandalism, and theft; If allowed to remain in such an enviroment, they will only go on to contribute to the detritus of our society. Therefore, we propose a curfew of 10PM for all unaccompanied minors, punishable with a small fine and a return to their place of residence. |

Message | As long as all prayer or abstention thereof is provided for, I have no problem. I would vote no if the bill established a religion to be specifically prayed for. Clarify this before a vote, if you could. |

Message | As far as the curfew, I fully support that article of the bill. Any youngsters out that late are up to no good anyway. |

Message | We do not seek to force any student to pray to any specific religion; we merely wish to establish an opportunity for spirituality in our schools. A mandated time each day for prayer or quiet reflection, led by an adult who is in a position to provide good moral example to the youth. You may accuse this act of making restrictions, but the URP bill to ban prayer in our schools goes much further to restrict the nation; this bill being introduced by the nations leading party, no less. |

Message | My bill does not ban prayer; it bans TEACHER-LED PRAYER. |

Message | Article 1 may have some merit, at least it can be debated. However, article 2 seems like we're going out of our way to mess with the status quo. If schools want teacher led prayers, they may have them. Our current law provides for that. If they don't, no one is pressuring them to do otherwise. This is a decision for school boards and local communities, not the federal government. |

Message | The status quo is corrupt; it is leading to the death and perdition of our youth and our nation. Our teachers should stand as examples to their students, and, as such, we feel this act is necessarry. This debate has run it's course; we are now opening the bill for voting. |

Message | The Budhists and Muslims will be thrilled to lead prayer and meditation times. |

Message | Indeed; this provision is made within the bill. We hope that, if it passes, all faiths will be allowed a greater position in our livves. |

Message | Yes indeed, allowing schools to make thier own decisions leads all our children to hell. Oh this will be fun. |
Date | 21:07:12, August 01, 2007 CET | From | National Moral Front | To | Debating the Youth Guidance Act |
Message | We do not make such claims; Merely that allowing schools to derelict our childrens moral education leads to increased delinquency. This is not a radical claim, we feel it to be self-evident. |

Random fact: When you join the game, you will find yourself with only zero seats. That's because your party's representatives haven't been elected yet. You need to establish your party's position on issues by proposing several bills that your party wants passed and sending them to vote. This raises your visibility and if you do it enough, you will win seats at the next election. |
