Debate
These messages have been posted to debate on this bill:
Date | 18:20:38, August 01, 2007 CET | From | National Moral Front | To | Debating the Religious Act |
Message | This proposal holds much merit in our eyes; Our government needs greater involvement with religion, and religion greater involvement with our government. Faith preserves and protects. |
Date | 18:44:44, August 01, 2007 CET | From | Lodamun Autonomous Republican Party | To | Debating the Religious Act |
Message | An official state religion, although voluntary, imposes on the rights of our citizens. Such an institution could potentially become tyrannical in nature, being all but mandatory through social and economic coercion. Although its aims are laudable, this bill has far too much potential for abuse. |
Date | 01:12:47, August 06, 2007 CET | From | Independent Republican Party | To | Debating the Religious Act |
Message | Separation of church and state is neccessary to maintain a successful society. Anytime a government involves itself with religion, bad things usually happen. Take for example the current situation in the Middle East. Many countries, including Iran, have non-secularist societies and look where it has gotten them. |

Random fact: Moderation will not accept Cultural Protocol updates which introduce, on a significant scale, cultures which are likely to be insufficiently accessible to players. In particular, for all significant cultures in Particracy, it should be easy for players to access and use online resources to assist with language translation and the generation of character names. Moderation reserves the right to amend Cultural Protocols which are deemed to have introduced significant cultures that are not sufficiently accessible and which are not being actively role-played with. |
