Message | Why s it unwise to allow gambling in private homes or in office betting pools? How does this lead to crime? |

Message | Because to do this allows room for unlicenced, below board bookkeepers, who may be very dangerous indeed. If you cannot see how foolish this is, then i despair for the future of the nation. |

Message | And of course, this will have no bearing on wagers between friends and colleagues; while nominally illegal, it would be totally unenforcable and beyond the scope of our police at any rate. This legislation would be used to prosecute gambling OPERATIONS run without any oversight by official bodies, operations often run by or with links to organised crime. |
Date | 01:33:59, August 02, 2007 CET | From | New Conservative Left | To | Debating the Gambling Regulation |
Message | Then punish the organized crime, not the victimless 'crime' of gambling. |
Date | 03:22:25, August 02, 2007 CET | From | Independent Republican Party | To | Debating the Gambling Regulation |
Message | We would rather see gambling legal only in private homes and casinos with licenses, but the proposed law will serve a good purpose. It is much better than the current gambling law which is basically sheer anarchy. |
