Voting deadline: November 2096
Description[?]:
In our modern world it's important that protection is provided to everyone - even those that can't afford it. Studies have shown that the introduction of programs like these in RL have reduced teen pregnancy and STD rates. If you'd like me to go into further details I will, but not until then. |

Message | We already provide free sex education in the publically funded schools which covers contraception. There is no need to subsidize or distribute for free items that are low cost to start with. Yes I would like evidence that the free provision of contraceptives reduces unwanted preganancies. This of course will have to be without any change in the educational program being made at the same time as the free contraceptives were introduced. |

Message | People under the legal age (i.e. not adults, which is 16 here) should not be having sex anyway, so why should we seem to condone their actions by giving them free contraceptives? Surely the best way would be to continue sex education but at the same time, advocate an abstinence policy? After all, there would not actually be any teenage pregnancies if there wasn't any teenage sex. |

Message | There would be no unwanted pregnancies at all if there was no sex purely for procreation, lets ban non-procreational sex! Also, the age of consent is not necessarily the legal age. ((And since the country has always been controlled by the social left, it's probably lower.)) |

Message | So they can disguise it as something to do with freedom of information when actually it is about encouraging school children to have sex. |

Message | Because they want to show their ignorance of English Grammar, a result of their being educated in schools that are more concerned with pushing political ideal than teaching basic skills. It should, grammatically, be "Freedom of Knowledge" However the bill name makes no more sense than the "Of the People, for the People, by the People" bill, where the title does not relate to the content either. |

Message | The name is referring to the weight thats lkifted off your back knowing that you were safe and responsible. |

Message | that's a bit of a stretch...don't you think? |

Message | We do not believe that free contraceptives will encourage people top have sex. People have sex because they want to, not because they see a condom and it gives them the idea. Nor do we believe enforcing ages of consent is really the business of the State. On the other hand sexual education is widely available, and the cost of birth control is not excessive (where it is, a comprehensive drug insurance plan is probably the best method to deal with this). We would need to see some evidence that this is a prudent and needed expenditure before agreeing. |

Message | Statistics for the United States. America's main system that provides free contraceptives is called the PPFA (Planned Parenthood Federation of America). It is not state owned, but it is a non-profit organization. Teen pregnancies are much higher in the United States than any other developed country - double that of Canada and at least four times France and Germany who have much more established programs that provide contraceptives. 80% of the decrease in teen pregnancies in America is due to proper use of contraceptives. -AGI If a teen does not use contraceptives, she has a 90% chance of becoming pregnant within one year of becoming sexually active. -AGI Teens DO NOT have significantly less sex when contraceptives aren't available. - PPFA The poorer the young woman, the more likely she will become a mother. -CN The birth rate for teens has been declining in recent years coinciding with the more widespread expansion of Planned Parenthood programs. -CN |
