Bill: Réformes Constitutionnelles
Details
Submitted by[?]: Lutte Féministe de Libération
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: August 2443
Description[?]:
The following constitutional reforms are made with an effort at bipartisanship. It's time to increase the number of representatives by a small amount to keep up with expanding growth. A Sénat of 150 members could be acceptable to all parties, especially as its division (100 seats for 2/3rds, 75 for 1/2) is easy to remember. The removal of the phrase "Rildanor Royal" from the national animal is simply common sense. A new, simple one verse anthem built around the new motto in both English and French is an important step towards finishing Rildanor's official transition to a French nation. |
Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change The lyrics of the national anthem.
Old value:: So long as there is the earth and the heavens; So long as the world endures; So long as there is life in the world; So long as a single Rildanorian breathes; There will be this Rildanor. Long live the Rildanorian nation. Long live the Monarchy. Forever there be our national unity; Forever there be the Rildanorian nation and the People. Forever the Rildanorian nation, the People and National Unity.
Current:
Luthorian: In the land of Rildanor, united we stand, With hearts aflame for freedom's demand. Through trials and struggles, we've come this far, Together we rise, like a guiding star. Oh, Rildanor, our noble land, With strength and hope, we firmly stand. In unity we thrive, embracing our fate, For a brighter future, we navigate. From Montpellier to Sirdour, our spirits soar, A nation united, forevermore. With justice and equality, we pave the way, In pursuit of progress, every single day. Through the storms we weathered, resilience we've shown, A tapestry woven with dreams yet unknown. With courage and passion, we'll shape our fate, For Rildanor's future, we'll never abate. Oh, Rildanor, our noble land, With strength and hope, we firmly stand. In unity we thrive, embracing our fate, For a brighter future, we navigate. With liberty's flame, our spirits ignite, As we strive for harmony, shining bright. Hand in hand, we build a land anew, A beacon of hope, for me and for you. So let our voices rise, in triumph and pride, For Rildanor's spirit, forever beside. In our hearts we hold, the dreams we impart, For a future united, in every heart. |
Proposed:
[Sing out each nation, voices strong Rise up in harmony! Let all the flags of every land In brotherhood unfold. Now I hear my country calling away across the sea Across the waste of waters Rildanor calls and calls to me. And soul by soul and silently her shining bounds increase And her ways are ways of gentleness and all her paths are peace.] |

Message | The anthem in particular (which is a pieced together version of several stanzas of the Olympian anthem) I like because it's simple and easily translated into both English and French, something we wanted before. This really should be a bipartisan vote. |
Date | 16:56:30, August 05, 2007 CET | From | Lutte Féministe de Libération | To | Debating the Réformes Constitutionnelles |
Message | Also, it was my hope we could get this passed before ADER goes inactive and some joke party joins us that wants the anthem to be something ridiculous, like "LOLZ, noob." |
Date | 16:57:55, August 05, 2007 CET | From | Lutte Féministe de Libération | To | Debating the Réformes Constitutionnelles |
Message | The anthem is also patriotic (which the right should like) without being militant (which the left should like). |

Message | What if I want a militant, unpatriotic anthem? What then? |

Message | OOC: I do the same thing. It's like you're referring to your whole party. And then sometimes I'll switch between we and I in the same sentence. IC: What's the point of a militant, unpatriotic anthem? |
Date | 23:41:09, August 07, 2007 CET | From | Front Canrillaise | To | Debating the Réformes Constitutionnelles |
Message | We are completely against changing the old royal anthem and animal. |
Date | 00:10:02, August 08, 2007 CET | From | Lutte Féministe de Libération | To | Debating the Réformes Constitutionnelles |
Message | Well that was kind of expected. Fortunately you don't hold a constitutional veto. |
Date | 05:12:08, August 08, 2007 CET | From | Front Canrillaise | To | Debating the Réformes Constitutionnelles |
Message | The anthem mentions other nations but does not even make any references to the Rildanorian nation! |
Date | 01:48:27, August 09, 2007 CET | From | Lutte Féministe de Libération | To | Debating the Réformes Constitutionnelles |
Message | It makes mention to all nations, silly. |
Date | 05:59:14, August 09, 2007 CET | From | Front Canrillaise | To | Debating the Réformes Constitutionnelles |
Message | It's relevance to Rildanor? |
Date | 06:03:12, August 09, 2007 CET | From | Front Nationaliste Royaliste | To | Debating the Réformes Constitutionnelles |
Message | What about "I Vow to Thee, My Country". Surely that is non-militant and patriotic enough to please all sides? I vow to thee, my country, all earthly things above, Entire and whole and perfect, the service of my love; The love that asks no question, the love that stands the test, That lays upon the altar the dearest and the best; The love that never falters, the love that pays the price, The love that makes undaunted the final sacrifice. I heard my country calling, away across the sea, Across the waste of waters she calls and calls to me. Her sword is girded at her side, her helmet on her head, And round her feet are lying the dying and the dead. I hear the noise of battle, the thunder of her guns, I haste to thee my mother, a son among thy sons. And there's another country, I've heard of long ago, Most dear to them that love her, most great to them that know; We may not count her armies, we may not see her King; Her fortress is a faithful heart, her pride is suffering; And soul by soul and silently her shining bounds increase, And her ways are ways of gentleness, and all her paths are peace. Unfortunately, the best I can do is a babelfish translation. Maybe one of the Canadians here can find a copy of it in French, since I believe it is also sung in Canada on Remembrance Day. |

Message | Well that's really an English song, I'm not sure if it's even sung in French in Canada. My main attachment to the current anthem is the fact that it's been there for centuries. It has only been revised a few times, while still retaining the original structure. |
Date | 02:07:02, August 11, 2007 CET | From | Lutte Féministe de Libération | To | Debating the Réformes Constitutionnelles |
Message | Yes, I know that, but it doesn't even rhyme. There's semblance of a rhythmic pattern, and it would be a pain to include a French translation. My proposed anthem (which doesn't look like it's gaining much support) is at least song-like, though short, and easily translated. |
Date | 00:44:01, August 12, 2007 CET | From | Front Nationaliste Royaliste | To | Debating the Réformes Constitutionnelles |
Message | Yes, but we don't really want a short and simplistic anthem, do we? I still like I Vow To thee, My Country... |
Date | 02:57:02, August 13, 2007 CET | From | Lutte Féministe de Libération | To | Debating the Réformes Constitutionnelles |
Message | Well we want something short enough that it can be translated without becoming burdensome, correct? |
Date | 20:01:07, August 14, 2007 CET | From | Lutte Féministe de Libération | To | Debating the Réformes Constitutionnelles |
Message | Well how about this version that kind of morphs together my anthem with the FNR's? |
Date | 20:20:02, August 14, 2007 CET | From | Mouvement Nationaliste De Liberté | To | Debating the Réformes Constitutionnelles |
Message | Mouvement Nationaliste De Liberté has decided to support En Avant! Socialisme Libre in their choice for anthem. |

Random fact: It is not allowed to call more than 5 elections in 5 game years in a nation. The default sanction for a player persisting in the early election tactic will be a seat reset. |
