Message | I don't want to pull a france and punish students for carrying bibles, saying individual prayers, wearing crosses, etc |

Message | It doesn't ban religion from schools. It only bans teachers leading religious ceremonies in schools. |

Message | Which is quite acceptable. However, when kids are homeschooled the case gets interesting and hilarious. When the teacher wants everyone to pray he could simply walk outside with the kids or dismissing class and then forcing the kids to pray anyway. Am I rambling? |
Date | not recorded | From | To | Debating the Freedom From Religion |
Message | If that was the case, it'd be an abuse of the teacher's authority, and the school would take whatever disciplinary action it deemed necessary. |

Message | Rambling. And the teacher can only 'force' the kids to do things when he or she has his or her 'teacher hat' on. |

Message | okay then, I'll lodge my support in that case |

Message | Does that mean pupils will be lured away from religion? It should be the choice of the parents whether they want prayers in schools or not. I am especially worried by the libertarian politicians who apparently want to outlaw religion-based schools by this. |
Date | not recorded | From | To | Debating the Freedom From Religion |
Message | In my opinion, this should be forbidden in state-schools. Private schools should have the right to educate people in a religous way, as should homeschooling parents. |
Date | not recorded | From | Deadly Buzz Party | To | Debating the Freedom From Religion |
Message | I disagree with this proposal. While I beilieve that studentsa shouldnt have religion forced upon them, the students who arent religious or a differant religion should be given the oppertunity to go to a differant room while prayers are carried out. |
Date | not recorded | From | Liberal Democrats | To | Debating the Freedom From Religion |
Message | The kids are allowed to pray, however they should never be forced to pray by a teacher. The school may have a meditation room to give a special place for kids, teachers and other employees to pray. Also you could still have classes about religion in the schools. |

Message | I believe this only applies to public schools Ligati. |
Date | not recorded | From | To | Debating the Freedom From Religion |
Message | Proposed: Teacher-led prayers in schools are forbidden. Nothing said about private or public! |

Message | Well. Then I'll abstain. |
