| *All rise for His Serene Majesty, the Holy Luthori Emperor* (The Rt. Hon. Member for the Barony of West Yod, Linen and Pimm's) Your Majesty, We have received a missive from the Field Marshal Matyushenko of the Fourth Deltarian Republic, requesting that we recognise his government as the rightful one. Your Government also received a missive from a Mr Kennedy, who calls himself Chairman of the Deltarian Socialist Party. As I'm sure Your Majesty will recognise, this man sounds dubiously Deltarian at least. If he is indeed the genuine article then he is either an immigrant (to Deltaria! I ask you.) or of foreign stock. I beg that Your Majesty and the Imperial Diet note that the Field Marshal is clearly of good Deltarian stock, a gentleman and an aristocrat. As I'm sure Your Majesty and the Diet will recall, the Fourth Deltarian Republic is a new one and its birth was fraught with problems - whether it was ever a democratic nation or founded as a democracy and not a socialist dung hole is questionable. It seems that the Field Marshal's aims are admirable and are likely to align with those of Your Majesty's Government. In light of the good relationship Your Majesty had with the Czars of Deltaria, and earlier the great houses of the country, the clearly upstanding nature of Field Marshal Matsyushenko and the equally clear fishiness of Mr Kennedy, we humbly beg that Your Majesty command Your Government to recognise the new government of the Fourth Deltarian Republican. We also ask that the voice of the Imperial Diet be heard first. I beg leave of Your Majesty. |
