Bill: Proposing the Changing of the National Motto
Details
Submitted by[?]: 帝国公明党 (Teikoku Kōmeitō)
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: August 2442
Description[?]:
The DSP feels that the current national motto is inadequate. Apart from the fact that few will be able to pronounce it (many DSP member have tried and failed), but it does not hold the noble aire of traditional Latin motto's. The DSP would like the opinion of everyone else on what, if they think it should be changed, a good new motto would be. The DSP suggests a as possible new motto; Amicus humani generis (A friend to Humanity.) |

Message | "quidquid Latine dictum sit altum videtur" I don't think that Latin quotes (despite how much I like the language) are very necessary. Our current motto is in the common tongue of Sekowo (Tsekwon). You can read about it here: http://particracy.wikia.com/wiki/Tsekwon Admittedly, it looks pretty bad, but that's just because Particracy can't process the IPA symbols that the Communist Party has kindly arranged. Here's a very rough approximation to how it sounds: mey-shi-IL-u. eh han-ich-YES-e-fon kwe chehw VEL-wai bho-mai-TON-yesch If everyone would prefer a different language, I'll be happy to make one that sounds a lot better, but in any case we should have a native tongue produce our national motto. |
