Bill: National Pride Act: 2440 Revision

Details

Submitted by[?]: Peoples Movement for an Obedient Society

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: December 2440

Description[?]:

It is the belief of this party that certain activities should be encouraged by the government to promote a sense of nationhood.

Primarily the singing of a National Anthem at School Assembly.

We see no reason as to why this can not be promoted as it gives all our citizens a sense of self pride and togetherness.

Additionally state issued identity cards should be carried on all persons at all times. Citizens under the age of 18 (the current a recognised age of adulthood) may have their cards stored with a parent or guardian as long as the child knows where it can be found if needed.

The third and final part of this Legislature is the discussion of mandatory National Service. Upon leaving school young adults should have to spend some time serving their country. Unless they plan to move on to a higher education or a field of work that requires many years training.

This, we believe, will cut down some unemployment, provide necessary manpower to areas of work overseen by government and will provide many people with a sense of duty to Malivia.

MessageThis bill goes against our current bill to prepare a draft to protect us should armed conflict be necessary. We are strongly opposed to article 2, for by overriding the result of my bill (once mine passes) it will undermine national security.

MessageYour bill requires military service if I am not mistaken?

I agree with you in this current climate.

It would seem your bill is going to pass as it stands.

What is your opinion on Articles 1 and 3 should 2 be removed?

MessageOOC: Oops. I meant I disliked article 3. We'd support 1, and we're not yet sure how we feel about 2.

Random fact: Particracy does not allow real-life brand names (eg. Coca Cola, McDonalds, Microsoft). However, in the case of military equipment brand names it is permitted to use simple number-letter combinations (eg. T-90 and F-22) borrowed from real life, and also simple generic names, like those of animals (eg. Leopard and Jaguar).
