Bill: Adoption Access Reform
Details
Submitted by[?]: Tukarali Communist Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: November 2441
Description[?]:
In a nation where there are no qualifications necessary to give birth to a child, why would there be strict standards in order to adopt one? We must make adoption open to all those who have not been convicted of child abuse. There are children out there who need homes. |

Message | We don't accept that the law in this area is inconsistent. Parents who chose to put their children up for adoption impliedly desire their children to go to a good home, whereas natural parents would reasonably one become parents if they thought they could provide a good home for the child. If this bill were to pass into law, people who have child-abuse tendencies, but haven't yet had the opportunity would now have all the opportunity in the world. Not to mention, they would be allowed free reign to indoctrinate their children with their revolutionary and deviant ideas. We oppose this bill. |

Message | Really, what sort of tests could screen out parents with intentions of abusing children? People intent on abuse will do their best to deceive tests. Natural parents have the exact same opportunity as adoptive parents to indoctrinate their children with revolutionary and and deviant ideas, or abuse them. There is no reason to have different standards for giving birth and adopting. |

Message | We support this proposal. However, we would like to see private, recognized organizations regulating adoption or letting local governments regulate it. |

Message | Adopting babies isn't the same as buying a puppy.. There should be some testing, more than only screening out pedophiles.. that's the least you can do! Lot's of orphans or kids who were abonded come from broken homes or have been in several foster homes. The least you can do is find them a decent home in stead of giving them away to the first drunk or drug addict. |
