Bill: Public Healthcare
Details
Submitted by[?]: National Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: December 2440
Description[?]:
I realize this may not be a popular bill. However, even the most ardent Libertarian tends to agree that if the government DOES have a role to play, it lies in the protection of its citizens. In addition to military security, the government should make the health of its citizens a direct responsibility. This bill also allows for private clinics, which will foster competition and result in better care for all. |
Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change Health care policy.
Old value:: Health care is private, but is paid for by the state for people with low incomes.
Current: Health care is entirely private.
Proposed: There is a public health care system, but private clinics are allowed.

Message | We do care for our people's health. We also realize that we can't tax the shirt off a non smoking, non drinking individual that exercises regularly because a bunch of pot smoking drunk couch potatoes have fallen ill, and the government has to give them treatment. Private health care is always better then the public system, it's simple economics. If someone has genuinely fallen through the cracks, we pay for their's until they get back on their feet. |
