| Current laws allow nuclear weaponry to be used in retaliation to any attack. We believe this is wholly unacceptable. The use of nuclear weapons is an atrocity, resulting in hundreds of thousands of deaths, almost all of which will be innocents. They also cause catastrophic damage to the planet. Considering this is the only planet we have, damaging it in such a way is a terrible thing to do. We propose to change laws, to limit the use of nuclear weapons only to such situations where they are necessary. And where ensuring the survival of our nation is not possible by any other means. These abhorrent weapons should only ever be used as an absolute last resort, and not with the impunity that current laws allow. |
