MessageRobots are not born; they are manufactured. We must not allow our legal system the opportunity to discriminate based on reproductive methods.

MessageRobots do not have souls. Their consciousness is false, and they do not deserve the same rights as the Jewish Peoples.

MessageIt should not be the concern of the government as to the method in which an entity came into existence. If it can pass the test, it deserves citizenship.

MessageWait, so if i can train a dog to pass the test, and act like a person in no other way, despite the fact it obviously doesnt deserve to be equal man, it should be afforded the same rights?

Robots are the same; they are simply not people, those with A.I (which we really doubt truly exists in the form of making robots think they have a consciousness or feelings, or else we would be doing our bests to destroy it) have no real feelings, it is all just a program. They do not deserve the same rights as men because they are not equal to men, not in Gods or anybodies eyes.

MessageIf the test is properly designed it will ensure that only sapient things are capable of passing the test and therefore capable of influencing the government. Why should human emotions, mortality, or morality be a requirement for citizenship?

MessageBecause robots dont have souls and are not loved by God? If you dont like that, then the reason human qualities should play a part in deciding citizenship is because traditionally only humans get citizenship.

It would be ridiculously easy to program a robot to pass a citizenship test, ecspecially if we ignore human qualities like you suggest.

MessageWe would obviously have to ensure that robots are not programed to be additional voters for their manufacturors, yes, but this could be done quite easilly through regulating the produciton of robots (which we would be doing anyway to prevent criminal activities). If there is an intelligence which can understand politics and make a decision about it on its own, it should be able to seek citizenship.

MessageFirst of all, we doubt any such robots really exist, given in they are not known anywhere else in Terra, and our the fact our own technology industry is far behind the rich world. Secondly, its not about whether they can understand politics, its about the fact they are machines; they have NO rights.
