Message | While we have no problem with using aid to boost our industry, at present our focus should be on improving our own nation, which is still a third world country recovering from invasion. |

Message | Exactly- The tariff is designed to do just that. By taxing imports we make it costlier to consume foreign goods. This way, domestic goods are produced and consumed more, stregnthening all of our domestic industries. Lowering the corporate tax at the same time allows more investment, again, boosting industry even more. There is no better way to escape third world status than to supercharge the economy. |

Message | As for free international relations- that is why we offer the compromise of tariffs in certain sectors. We would not place a single, broad tariff voer everything. This proposal allows us the flexibility of trade negotiations and the protection of a tariff at the same time. |

Random fact: When it comes to creating a Cultural Protocol in a Culturally Open nation, players are not necessarily required to provide a plausible backstory for how the nation's cultural background developed. However, the provision of a plausible backstory may be a factor in whether Moderation approves the Cultural Protocol if players in surrounding nations question its appropriateness for their region of the game map. |
