Message | Government exist to permit harmonious interactions between people. Religion has this as its base. Why do they not mix? They both provide rules and the means for aiding each other especially those less fortunate. By permitting the religious communities themselves to appoint their leaders we are staying true to the democratic principles that found our nation, and preventing corrupting influences between the two. If leaders in the religious community start playing to the governement rather then their beliefs, they may manage a pay raise, but then the religious community will have them removed. Religious freedom of others is garanteed thus the government cannot move to becoming a strong arm of the religion. |

Message | You seem to have an overly optimistic view of this policy. Firstly, there are many opportunities for corruption; secondly, separation of organised religion and state is a fundamental principle of democracy; thirdly, you haven't even explained why this is necessary. |

Message | 1) Opportunity exist for corruption everywhere. We must work at measures to find and remove those guilty of this behavior then judging all by the actions of few. By placing the final decision in the hands of the people who are to be represented both organizations have a check on this behavior. Just as we would not expect a Assemby member to be reelected after a corruption scandal a church leader would not be appointed if their behavior deviated from the teaching. 2) we disagree with this premise. Democracy is government by the people. Religion is the mainstay of many lives thus it should be the foundation of any government which has its people wishes in mind. There is an underlying assumption of a common belief system where most governments start from. This belief system comes from religions and though they can vary in details and implementation the core is the same. religion is at the heart of government. 3) Once a national religion is in place the foundations that our government is based on; aiding those less fortunate, protecting your neighbor, general good will toward mankind can slowly be removed from the government agencies as more and more people well consider this the norm. Why tax one, run it through agency after agency, and give it to another, when the first would have done this anyway. |

Message | 3)(cont) as stated in the bill discription this would strengthen national unity and remove the need for a draft or national service, these come naturally from a strong church. |
