Bill: Small Farms Revolution Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Capitalist Working Families
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: January 2442
Description[?]:
This legislation simply abides by the fundamental principle that ALL Rutanians are born with the INALIENABLE right to "Life, Liberty, and PROPERTY!!!" Therefore, it is the NOT in the power of government to "regulate" or "distribute" the size of farms and land of the Rutanian People. Nevertheless, on the other hand, we stand in firm solidarity with family farms struggling to compete with the mega conglomerate corporate farms by insisting that they MERGE into their own corporate farms. Think of it like this: A Dollar Bill represents a corporate farm; a penny represents a family farm. Of course, a penny cannot compete with a Dollar Bill. However, the solution is not for the statist arm of government to break up the Dollar Bill into smaller pennies (negative), but rather to encourage via tax breaks/abatements and loans 200 pennies to merge together to form TWO Dollar bills. Thank you for your full support. |

Message | Merging hundreds of family owned farms would be almost impossible due to logistics, rights, legal forms, border issues, obstinate farmers, etc... |

Message | Quellist, what are you talking about? Stalin NATIONALIZED all farms into the hands of a bureaucratic elite (Soviet Communism). The current law is actually LEANING towards Stalin's system of government control of farms b/c it imposeds regulations on the size of farms and property. We advocate that private property is an INALIENABLE RIGHT!!! However, if family farms cannot compete with mega corporate farms, they can merge their operations, financial resources, and sharing farm equipment. On the contrary, my proposal is the EXACT SAME THING as what Family farms in the good ol' U.S. of A. did on Planet Earth. |
